This is the simplified character of ‘ai’ which means love in Chinese (the written character, I am told, is very similiar in Cantonese and Mandarin.) I made this for two friends on the occasion of their 25th anniversary. The edges are done in a polished copper patina to give it a more gold look. I drew this pattern out freehand.

The 2020 United States election on November 3 might just be the most consequential of our lifetime. While there is intense focus on the presidential race, it is also critically important that we consider down ballot races. As an independent artist who is a member of the LGBTQ community and has a disability, much is on the line for me and millions of others. PLEASE VOTE. Vote blue, vote safely, be heard. We all need to show up.
